3.2 THE TRANSIT OF MAIL FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
The Polish post also signed an agreement with the postał administration of Latvia to transport mail through the Gdańsk harbour to the USA. Probably this was done because of the regular connection between Gdańsk and the USA through different shipping companies. A band-written Ł was obligatory to indicate that the parcel came from Latvia but was not always applied.
