6.1.2 DOMESTIC MAIL — AIRMAIL, BALLOON- AND ZEPPELIN MAIL
No Polish balloons carrying mail departed from the territory of the Free City. It was possible, however, to send mail to go on board special balloons in Poland through the Polish Post in the Free City. This mail did not receive a dispatch mark from Gdańsk but was cancelled, like normal Polish post, at the place of departure of the balloon.
Three Polish balloons, which were participating in the 9th national competition for balloons, landed on 31 May 1937 in the territory of the Free City of Danzig, and were all disqualified. The MOSĆICE landed close to Gdańsk, the 94 pieces of mail on board received arrival cancels of the Polish Post.

Below: Postcard sent by an employee of the Polish Post Office Gdańsk 2. The card was cancelled in Toruń from where the balloon ŁÓDZ departed. The balloon landed 4,3 km from the target in Białośliwie and became fourth on the ranking.
