There also exist uncut vertical and horizontal gutter blocks, but the high point of this issue are two cross-gutter blocks which have recently been found. Figure 9.

It is thought that these were not printed in the ordinary course of business as no plates of four printing panes are thought to have been used to print these issues. No definite evidence, either to prove or disprove this theory has been found.

Many collectors seem to be inclined to overlook less expensive stamps as being unworthy of detailed study, but it is the thesis of the writer that all stamps are equally worthy of research. Whether they are more or less valuable has no connection with the pleasure a serious student can derive from their study, and the empirical need for such studies.
