Many of these Mark values were used to meet the parcel rates during their period of validity. Rules required that the stamps on the parcel cards were to be obliterated with a pen or cancelling device. Each post office had their own unique device made from Cork, rubber or metal. Most of these cork cancels (Korkstempeln) shown in this exibit are from the main Danzig post office at DANZIG 1, showing their 6-ray star design unless otherwise noted. In addition to the Cork cancel on the stamps, the package cards also received a circular date cancel next to the stamps. These pages show cork cancels on examples from all of the regular burelage issue.
