The stamp is a 24÷ 76 Gr. Michel #106, issued on 13 August. 1943. along with four othcr designs in the same series. The illustration is of the Tuchhallc/n Krakau.

Purple handstamp in rectangle indicates that reception of card is officially snct ioriecl by the camp authorities.

Prof. Oscar Halecki, in his “A History of Poland” states that the General Gouve rncment was a purely artificial creation to which even the name of protectorate wasn’t applied. It was simply a German colony, to be cxploited.in the same way as, if riot ‘orse than , some African colonies.
