KURZNACHRICHT:

Our final remarks include the gratitude of all of us to Giles du Boulay for his masterful presentation of the Revenue Stamp Update. It’s true that these items are difficult to find at dealers, but the “finds” will be more exciting to place in the context of the catalog.

Speaking of Revenues: is that what the stamp is, on the right? Dave Ripley, of the Baltimore GPS Chapter 16, found a strip of 3 at a dealer’s. Over a pale yellow field, the second color is light plum type & illustration. Watermark is Wz.3 (small webbing). Any clues???

Dave Scheiber, one of our charter members, at 710 Cardiff Road, Wilmington DE 19803, is offering full sheets of Scott 84, 104, 106, 115, 132, 151, 153, 155, J19, J21, J24, J25, 025, 033, 034 and 038. All are sheets of 100 (except the Dues, which are 50). Overall condition is FVF+ NH. Few seps at edges only. Michel cats for DM1787.—; 1990 Scott is $223.00. He’ll accept $100.00.

Finally, an August 1922 picture postcard with 1.50—Mark postage to Germany. Nothing special, except that the illustration is of the Holzmarkt (Timber Mkt.), in which the statue of King John III now stands. The old obeliscal Den]cmal has been removed and the king now rides his horse in a grassy park. The Folio Print on the next page shows how things were.
