Photo 14: The red brick wall, which was built by the Free city of Danzig to isolate the Polish munitions transport operations, played a major role in the assault on Westerplatte.
Photo 15: On 19th September Adolf Hitler visited the Westerplatte and thanked the officers and crew of the Schleswig Holstein for their actions. Subsequently, he returned to the city via Oliveerstrasse in Neufahrwasser.
