Gdańsk, Danzig; Essays, Proofs and Un-issued stamps.

On October 31, 1923 the inflation period ended and a new currency was introduced. The Gulden replaced the Mark, with 2 Million Marks = 5 Pfennig. This new currency Pfennig value overprinted set was issued on 31. October and the Gulden values on 5. November. The stamps were overprinted by the Danzig Postal Printing works on previously issued designs that were printed on paper with the tile watermark (Wz. 4). All values were comb perforated 14.
