Figure 29 - Card sent from prisoner in Graudenz to Wolbrom, in the General Government. both of these pieces of sub camp mail are difficult- to find and represertt another area of study --- camp-to-camp mailings. eginning in 1944, “zip codes” were required and were known as Poatlcitzahlen, or postal district numbers. New post cards were printed with circles to contain the district- numbers for both sender and addressee. Panzig’s code number was 5a, and Pconigsberg’s was 5b.
