FORGERIES OF THE 2-MARK INNENDIENST

THE 2 MARK INNENDIENST
The overprints in colors of black and red are the original types. Acquaintances in the printing house of Sauer explained to Hollz that oilier examples never existed as official trial prints, but that they were merely Morhu,erke, as In the above examples.

FORGERY NO. ID-2-1
1. Point of origin Vienna.
2. Too much space between letters.
3. The A, N and Z stand approx. horizontal.

FORGERY NO. ID-2-2
1. Also originated in Vienna.
2. Very similar to ID-2-1, but the N deviates
     In Its too-heavy lower end of the diagonal.
3. The A Is too small and leans to left.

FORGERY NO. ID-2-3
1. Braunschwelg forgery; appears lithographed.
2. Very plump letters thruout.
3. Serifs are also too strong.
4. Base line of Z is too short; top serif bent.
5. End stroke of the 6 is overdrawn.
