DANZIG REPORT - - STUDY and RESEARCH GROUP Nr. 30
Editor: John H. Bloecher Jr., 1743 Little Creek Drive, Baltimore, Md. 21207
It’s hard to believe that this is the 30th edition of the Danzig Report, but here it is. We can’t begin to name all of the contributors who have spent hours in bringing new facets of Dantzig philately to us in the past. All we can say is “thank you !” We all appreciate your efforts, and we all have learned much from your contributions. Keep the information rolling in and we will publish your findings.
With this edition we are instituting an annual dues format. If you wish, you can take the option of paying for more than one year and beat inflation by paying for three! The yellow sign-up sheet explains this as well as the fact that we are counting on you to sign up before the next issue. It’s important.
Back by popular demand is a mail saie of Danzig stamp oddities. There are more to come, especially in the area of Dienstmark varieties. Also, we have already printed 2 color pages for future Reports. Much more research is in the planning stage, and we expect to print the blow-ups of No. 158’s plate varieties in the next Report. The feature of this 30th Report is John Whiteside’s excellent article that was published in the Harrogate Philatelic Society’s 98-pg. publication ‘Stray Thoughts on Philately”. All of the articles were contributed by members of the society and they are congratulated on the strength of their research. Bud Hennig purchased one of the books and secured their permission to print.
Spokane is the next GPS meeting: June 5 to 7. Correction: We will meet in CHICAGO in October instead of Kansas City as reported. The spring meeting in 1982 will be in Milwaukee.
