original dilemma, what happened to the swastika and coat of arms that are described on Page 44 ? Why are the two examples illustrated herewith not listed ? Who can help ?

Polish card with three separate cancels flown (?) to Quilmes, Argentina on 9.6.39, arriving 3.7.39.

The enormous amount of propaganda and pompous regalia was evidenced everywhere in the Third Reich. Even Adolf Hitler was involved in the smallest decision of approval for uniforms or medal designs. One such design is shown here, since a stylized detail of the SA in a circle appears on the Type 9 slogan cancel above. The Storm Troops (SA: Sturm Abteilung) had distinctive regalia, such as a belt buckle of the “Gymnastic and Sports Division”. This title was a euphemism, since “Storm Trooper” per se would have been
banned under the Versailles Treaty. The circular badge is a commemoration of the SA
Group’s Aufmarsch (ceremonial parade) in 1936 in Hamburg. The lower item is an SA sports
badge in silver, awarded for proficiency tests of a military nature. Behind the badges is an
SA sports uniform containing both symbols on the shirt. A source of information on “Nazi
Regalia” is from the book written by Jack Pia and published by Ballantine Books, New York. The paperback sold for $2,95 not long ago.
