Freie Stadt Danzig Stamp Dealers
We all have covers or cards that contain the name of stamp dealers whose shops were in or near Danzig during the 1920’s thru the 1940’s. Ernie Solit once sent in a photo of the back of a stamp which contained an undecipherable mark. On closer inspection, it proved to be that of a Danzig dealer, and the identification was made possible thru the use of the enclosed list, which is taken from an Arge bulletin.
This information is subject to continuous updating. For example, the card below was sent by Gustav Freywald on 21.4.23, which is earlier than the 1.5.23 date shown on the original chart.
The cover illustrated below was cancelled at the Danzig Post Office ic and is an example of correspondence from one dealer to another: Joachim Brennecke to Georg Hochkeppeler.
