Several years ago, we had requested cover information on U.S. ships participating in the 1920’s activities in Danzig harbor. As John Whiteside says in his H2 Fieldpost article, they are very scarce. David describes: As you suggested, 1 enclose copy of the U.S.S.Pittsburgh postmark which I showed you in London.. The only mark on the back of the cover is a pencilled notation “Pittsburgh iSa”, which I assume to be a reference to a catalog of naval postmarks. Ishall be grateful for any information about the visit of this ship to Danzig.
