Insinuation Documents were used in the 19th Century to transfer mortgage Information from one official court office to another. Since no stamps were affixed, most have a blue-cr’oned postage-due deficiency on the front. Cancels are often unusual and worth checking. Early forms were all handwritten, sometimes taking up four pages or more. Later, forms were printed in movable type and information was filled in by hand.
