AS THINGS ARE
Ever notice that things should be easy and should speed along until you really get into the heart of the matter? Then things get totally screwed up. That’s the way it went with the LUFTSCHUTZBUND thing. No matter where we looked, there was nothing in any literature that would help describe the situation during the Third Reich, especially from a Danzig viewpoint. That meant only one thing -- we’ll have to do some work! A total of five stamps and maybe a half-dozen cancels mention this important phase of German civilian life during the war, but any additional studies may rely on the Archives of the city of Gdaiisk, which will be visited in July. Meanwhilc, join us in Minneapolis!
