READY FOR NO. 100

You may be getting tired of hearing about the Schragdrucke Report by now, but we can assure you that it is a reality and will be shipped this summer. Only one more page needs to be finished before it joins the Printing Elves on the 16th floor of Danzig Report Druckerei. There may be a need for Beta testing in Danzig before general distribution, but we'll leave that up to the H6he Elf. Thanks for all your help in this issue!
WHAT'S NEXT?

In order to provide you with the latest information on Danzig and Port Gdansk philately, your editor will meet with the European Contingent from June 1st to the 12th at the new Hanza Hotel, which is less than two blocks north of the Krantor, on the river. We will plan further studies and spend a bit of time at the Gdansk Philatelic Society's club house. There is always something verrrrry interesting lurking within those walls!
WELCOME TO KLAUS WOLFF

Since Karl Kniep was sidelined with cancer last year, Klaus Wolff of Berlin has stepped in to edit the ARGE bulletins. Wolff's efforts have been quite effective, providing clear graphics and a new binding that has a professional look. Klaus was with us for the tour in the newly renovated Uphagen Haus last year. (Can you believe it?! 53 years after the war-  etwas neu!)
KARL KNIEP---1914 -1998

We are saddened to inform our members that the leader of the ARGE Danzig died on Sunday, February 22nd. Karl has been a good friend since that day in 1988 when Heinz Pauli dropped us off at the Kniep's and Hilde insisted that we stay for supper. Later, he showed us highlights from his collection and we somehow communicated with German-English dictionaries. At all of our meetings in Flamm-Pelkum, it was always a pleasure to see Karl and Hide. For Danzig philatelists, we do owe Karl a vote of thanks.
