Ten examples of the 12 - 1 hour grouping:

The 12—1 cancels on the previous page indicate no dividing line between day/month numerals. The first type change occurs between October of 1839 and 1840: D—G is changed from 135° to 1400 and D—Z from 80° to 90°. This remains through 1866, with only minor variations in the 12—1 position and possibly the N.

Six examples of the 1 - 2 hour grouping:
It appears that the 1—2 canceller survived from August, 1849, through October of 1855. It begins and ends with D—G at the 140° angle and with D—Z at 80°. No day/month lines.
