DAPOSTA 1937
One advantage in studying a presentation folder from an exhibition is that, generally, all
of the stamps •or sheets or cancels are representative of the originals. And why not?
There would be little incentive to switch unless known errors appeared in the originals.
This Daposta 1937 presentation booklet is interesting in that there are two pockets, each holding two souvenir sheets: Block 1, Block 2, and Block 3 - twice! The cancel l)anziger Leistunchau on Block 3 is (F[)C) dated 28.11.37, was used until 4.12.37, and is over six months later than the 1)aposta exhibition! Michel verifies that Blocks 1 and 2 sold for 1 Gld. each (see advertising card) from 6.6.37 until 8.6.37. Their description is below:
1937, 6 June Commemorative stamp in block. Postage stamp exhibition DAPOSTA 1937 (6-8th June 1937). Printing on block in gray ink. Designed by Lktcke; typography on dull yellow paper; watermark 3Y; comb perf 14.
