November 24, 1923. A new design of the Postage Due stamps was issued with a large Danzig Coat of Arms in dark-cobalt with black values. Designed by Max Buchholtz and letterpress printed by the Danzig Postal Printing office on Tile watermarked paper (Wz. 4) and comb perforated 14.
- 5 Pfennig. ----- 5 Pfennig. ----- 10 Pfennig. ----- 15 Pfennig, December 13. ----- 20 Pfennig. ----- 30 Pfennig. ----- 40 Pfennig. ----- 50 Pfennig. ----- 60 Pfennig. ----- 100 Pfennig. ----- 3 Gulden, December 13.
- Imperforate Proof without value imprint.
- Imperforate Proof with '3 Gulden' in different typeface.
- 5 Pfennig, top stamp with Block number Plate I position 18 and Plate II position 35.
An interesting printing variety. The inverted 'n' in Gulden.
- 3 Gulden value with inverted 'n' in Gulden, Position 13.
- 15 Pfennig, with center stamp printed in Block number, Position 65.
- 40 Pfennig, right stamp with Block number, Position 65.
- 50 Pfennig, with center stamp printed in Block number, Position 65.
An interesting question! Why were four values (5, 25, 40 and 50 Pfennige) printed with a single stamp on each sheet in 'Block' numbers?
