The Stockturm complex
Two photos of the Stockturm complex. Note the St. George Fraternity building (the metal sculpture of St. George killing his dragon already is installed, in 1965, at the highest point, with the original figures displayed at the museum.) But the roof & superstructure of the Stockturm tower wasn’t installed until several years later.
We took the Page 15 photo during our first trip, in 1988. The official business of the Stockturm was a prison, as well as a Torture Chamber.
The familiar construction on the right is the Upland Gate. The entire scene is from the Coal Market, and seen from the west side.
