Danzig Report Nr. 149* - October - November - December 2010.
* {No, the editors haven't been hitting the bottle - the reason for the DR numbers to be
out of sequence is that DR 149 and 151 was worked on months ago & the numbers haven't caught up YET}
From the Looks of Things;
We should still be on scedule, with the extra-effort DR-151 completed and on its way to you, but we had to sacrifice the annual sojourn to Gdansk and the get-toggether with all of our gang from Europe. Thanks to Giles, Malcolm and Donna, the Annual Luncheon with the Professor and wife Ewa. The resulting spare hours were very helpful in getting the tables cleared of all the work that was piled up and a good effort was made into Dr-149. That is alreaddy being printed and will be the lasr issue of 2010, with dues being requested, if a renewal slip is lurking above. In a word, "thanks" if you are one of the contributors; the U.S.P.S. is doing its darndest to put the stydy groups out of business, but Danzig shall prevail!
With DR-149 {this issue} being completed in mid-August, it will be ready for the BALPEX convention, beginning on September 3rd. Our DSG meeting is expected at 11 AM Saturday 9/4.
DR-150 has been reserved forn an in-depth look at Michel's Nr. 51 airmail stamp, with full sheets in colour. Preliminary work's advancing nicely.
GPS Annual Convetion;
Your Danzig Study Group meets on Saturday, September 4th, at 11 AM at Hunt Valley.
This is ourv plan, to allow each of you to tell us what you would like to see published in coming months. One way to do that is to display the cover page of new Reports, giving you a clue to the future. Also, we are close enough to the Hunt Valey Inn that we can drive most of the heavy materials to the meeting? Door prizes look interesting; such as the hard-cover books on Danzig, full sheets of the 5th Airmail issues (Michel 180F with the 10.000 cliche error).
It is easy to win one of these neat prizes, rquiring only your attending the DSG's meeting at Balpex!
*- Don't overlook Anna Halarewicz's watercolour of the maain city Rathaus on our cover.
Today, the Gdansk art schools appear to be loaded with talent.
*- A vieuw from Bischofsberg by no one but Berthold Hellingrath.
